All Things Diabetes: A Holistic Perspective
Class Details
This is a past class.
Diabetes and prediabetes affect 1 in 3 people in the United States. Why has this disease become so prevalent and what are we doing about it? In this 3 hour course, we will dive deep into all things diabetes: its history, how different cultures have approached management and prevention, what modern science says, and the story of diabetes in New Mexico. We’ll explore holistic management and some helpful herbs. We’ll also dig into ancestral relationships with diabetes and sweets, as well as ancestral diets that support disease management and prevention.
This 3 hour course is open to anyone interested in learning more about Diabetes!
Students will walk away with a solid understanding of how matters such as social policy and culture (including their own) impact the prevention, spread, and management of diabetes. Students will learn the emotional, spiritual, psychological, and physical implications of the disease and how to go about managing and reversing its effects with foods, lifestyle shifts, and herbs.
This course is best attended Live Online for maximum benefit, as there will be group discussion, breakout groups, and journal exercises.
