Invasive Plant Medicine: A Continuing Conversation

Class Details

Past class

Building on our previous invasive plant medicine topics, this new class will expand our understanding of these commoners as the list of invasive species in New Mexico and beyond is vast. In this class, we will dive deep into several invasive species that flourish in New Mexico and learn how to identify and make medicinal relationships with them. We will delve into the backstories and histories of these plants and come to understand that even the most problematic species play an important community role. Easily vilified, invasive plants flourish in spaces that have been left barren due to land mismanagement practices that are rooted in problematic social policies and beliefs. We will learn to recognize the gifts these plants offer and how to transform them into medicines that support healing and overall wellness. Previous and new students are welcome.
